TFI Vice President of Member Services Pam Guffain discusses a new security measure for chemical facilities which may have far-reaching effects among the agricultural community in this May 2010 National Association of Farm Broadcaster’s interview. The new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program called “Personnel Surety” would apply to chemical facilities regulated under the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS), including fertilizer manufacturers and agricultural retailers, and would seek to identify known or suspected terrorists by enhancing existing security measures.
