The 4R Research Fund announced it has awarded $273,500 in grants for five research proposals aimed at identifying what we already know about fertilizer best management practices and to help pinpoint existing research gaps. With help from a technical advisory group, the fund’s management committee selected the following five proposals for funding: 

WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) today announced the winners of the 2014 4R Advocate Awards.  The 4R Advocate Award program, now in its third year, recognizes on-farm stewardship actions.  Winners are selected based on their actions to protect the environment, boost profitability and benefit society through nutrient stewardship practices based on the 4Rs (using the right nutrient source, at the right rate, at the right time and in the right place).

Raising awareness and adoption of 4R nutrient stewardship is a top priority for The Fertilizer Institute (TFI). Currently, TFI is educating members and growers about the 4Rs at agricultural trade shows, member company visits and other 4R speaking engagements. 

Washington, D.C. – The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) announced the election of Robert P. Jornayvaz III, chairman of the board and chief executive officer (CEO) of Intrepid Potash, Inc., to serve a two-year term as chairman of TFI’s Board of Directors. In addition, the board tapped James T. Prokopanko, president and CEO of The Mosaic Company, to serve a two-year term as vice chairman. The gavel was passed to Jornayvaz by outgoing chairman, and Terra Industries, Inc., President and CEO Michael L.
