Will and McGowan Elected to Lead TFI Board
Orlando, Fla. --The Fertilizer Institute’s (TFI) Board of Directors this week elected Tony Will, President and CEO of CF Industries, and Brent McGowan, Vice President, Operations with Wilbur-Ellis, to serve two-year terms as the board’s chairman and vice chairman respectively.
“Tony and Brent share a tremendous commitment to TFI and its work, and I know that we will benefit from their leadership,” said TFI President, Chris Jahn. “Our profile on nutrient stewardship and sustainability will continue to grow during the next two years, and we couldn’t ask for a better team to support us.”
During this week’s meeting, TFI’s board also approved TFI’s 2019 policy priorities and reviewed and provided feedback on key initiatives.
The board previewed TFI’s 2018 State of the Industry report, which quantifies fertilizer industry progress on sustainability indicators such as worker safety, energy use, the environment, and 4R Nutrient Stewardship. The report shows that in 2018, the fertilizer industry is twice as safe as its peers in the chemical industry and continues to improve its environmental performance and increase its commitment to economic and social progress.
