The Fertilizer Institute Elects Garrett Lofto as Board Chairman, Chuck Magro as Vice Chairman

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) announced the election of Garrett Lofto, president of the agribusiness group at J.R. Simplot Company, to serve as chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors. In addition, the board selected Chuck Magro, president and chief executive officer of Agrium Inc., to serve as vice chairman.

Lofto has been president of the agribusiness group at J.R. Simplot Company since 2009 and is a member of TFI’s Executive Committee.  The J.R. Simplot Company is one of the largest privately held food and agribusiness companies in the nation. Simplot pioneers innovations in plant nutrition and food processing, researches new ways to feed animals and sustain ecosystems, as it strives to feed a growing global population. 

Magro is the President and CEO of Agrium Inc., a leader in the development, production, marketing and sales of fertilizer and other agricultural products and services.
