TFI Adds Staff Members to Public Affairs Team
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) announced today two new hires to the public affairs staff who will be instrumental in communicating the work of TFI to the fertilizer industry, stakeholders, and policymakers across the country. Jennifer Martin was named Director of Public Relations and Marketing, and Mike Pepe was named Senior Manager of Public Affairs.
“With the additions of Jenny and Mike, we are bringing on strong team members with deep expertise as well as adding significant bandwidth to help spread the message of the great work our industry does,” said Chris Jahn, TFI President.
Martin’s primary responsibilities will be helping TFI’s 4R, sustainability, and membership teams develop and implement communication initiatives. Martin comes to TFI with more than 10 years’ experience in the agricultural communication field. She was most recently the Director of Food Technology Communications with the International Food Information Council and prior to that served with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as Media Relations Manager for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture. She is a graduate of Iowa State University and has earned a Masters’ Degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University. Pepe will primarily be responsible for policy advocacy communication, grassroots advocacy, and FERTPAC, TFI’s political action committee. He has more than 10 years of experience in political communication and campaign organization. Pepe comes to TFI from Weber Merritt where he was responsible for providing strategic counsel and public relations campaigns to trade associations, non-profits, and corporations.
