Derek Emerine

National Agronomist

Derek Emerine is the National Agronomist for Helena Agri-Enterprises. He leads efforts to identify and provide solutions to fertility issues. He also trains and educates Helena employees to make quality fertility recommendations by harnessing data. Emerine held several positions during his 17-year career with Helena before becoming the National Agronomist. He started by providing sales support for Helena’s expansive precision agriculture offerings and later served as an agronomist in its Southern Business Unit. 

Prior to joining Helena, Emerine worked in sales for an aerial imagery company creating variable rate recommendations for corn and cotton. While receiving his education at Mississippi State University, he was a corn and cotton consultant and teaching assistant. He earned a BS in Agronomy a MS in Agronomy, focusing on soil fertility, remote sensing, and precision agriculture. Emerine was certified as CCA in 2004.
